Fuerteventura, located in the Atlantic Ocean off the west coast of Africa, is the second largest of the Canary Islands. The island combines clear turquoise seas perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving with a welcome sea breeze that's ideal for windsurfing. Much of the islands interior, with its large plains, lavascapes and volcanic mountains, consists of protected areas which can be best be explored in a jeep or with a cross-country motorbike.
The rolling expanses of the gleaming white dunes that make up the Corralejo National Park are an unofficial naturist reserve with plenty of room to get that all over tan.
