A Small Island with no less than an enormous reputation. Ibiza hosts some of the worlds biggest dance clubs and is one of the most picturesque islands in the Balearics. Green hills become golden beaches bathed in the warm waters of the Mediterranean, as resorts flourish on the coast traditional Ibician life still exists and thrives elsewhere on the island.
In addition to the world-class nightlife, the island offers excellent water-skiing, windsurfing, snorkelling, pedaloes, golf and tennis.
Ibiza’s beaches are some of the islands greatest assets, whether you’re stretching out for a bit of sun worship or looking for somewhere for the kid’s to make sand castles.
Food: Try the local herbal wines such as the almond-flavoured palo or local perfumed gin. Spanish and international cuisines are popular.
Nightlife: Clubbing season runs from June to September. For flyers and pre-parties visit Café Mambo, Cafe Del Mar, Bar M, San Antonio or the Rock Bar in Ibiza Town. Pacha in Ibiza Town is open all year round.
Shopping: Good buys at all the shops and markets are leather, pottery, jewellery.
Days out: Take the hour-long boat ride to Formentera Island; a Jeep tour of the interior; the aqua park at Playa d'en Bossa is worth a visit. See what Ibiza was decades before the Balearic Beat at the ethnological museum in Santa Eulalia.

Additional Ibiza Information |
Cala Tarida
(60 minutes from the Airport). This resort is on the west coast of Ibiza and has excellent beaches, a popular destination for families, with great restaurants, swimming, and peace! If you need a change of scene, San Antonio is only 8 km from here.
Es Cana
(50 minutes from Ibiza airport). Features fine sandy beaches and shallow clear seas around a semi-circular cove at the north-eastern tip of the island. About as far as you can get from the frenetic nightlife, Es Cana offers a relaxed atmosphere summed up by a weekly 'Hippy' market. Offers something for everyone, especially families.
Figueretas
(15 minutes from the Airport). Figueretas is a family and couples resort, fun but relaxing, with beautiful coasts and nice shops, cafes, and restaurants where they serve all sorts of food. The nice, laid-back beaches and sun are the most important attributes.
Ibiza Town
(15 minutes from Ibiza airport). Despite an extensive old quarter overlooking a picturesque circular harbour, the southeastern costal town is better known these days for the hangar-sized discos and extravagant nightlife a few miles inland. Two of the island's most luxurious nightclubs, Pacha and El Divino, are located in Ibiza Town. Reasonable amount of apartment style accommodation, but lack of beach suits Ibiza Town better to singles and couples.
Playa d'en Bossa
(20 minutes from Ibiza airport). Modern facilities, shops and restaurants with a water park and the longest beach in Ibiza. Suitable for families, couples and singles. Home to the mega-discos Kiss and Space.
Portinax
(60 minutes from the Airport). This resort has the best beaches on the whole island, one in particular has only white sand, and the sea is a fusion of deep blues and aquamarine, making this a very popular destination. The restaurants and shops are very good, and the people who come here really want to lie back and enjoy the sun, an excellent place for families.
San Antonio
(35 minutes from Ibiza airport). Connected by ferry to Denia on mainland Spain, 'San An' is famous for its formerly gay nightlife and as the birthplace of much of today's modern dance music. It's packed with hundreds of bars, restaurants and clubs, but by day it can be surprisingly peaceful. Offers something for everyone who likes havin' it loud!
Santa Eulalia
(45 minutes from Ibiza airport). Fairly quiet resort near the north-eastern tip of the island. Has a cosmopolitan atmosphere, modern shops and facilities, old world charm and safer beaches. A family favourite. |
