Travel Guide To Mallorca (Majorca)

guide to majorca

It’s easy to see why the Spanish King moved his summer palace to the island of Majorca. This island the largest of the Balearic’s is a dazzling jewel in the West Mediterranean. Majorca isn’t just for Spanish royalty.

Also known as Mallorca, Majorca attracts over 1 million British visitors every year and it’s easy to see why. Not only does Majorca offer noisy resorts and all that go with that, but inland there are surprisingly unspoilt, rural hideaways to be found.

Majorca holidays offer a mixture of soft sandy beaches, olive groves, mountain scenery, hectic nightlife, golf, and undiscovered villages. There's culture too, if you're minded to go in search of it.

Food
A variety of salads, Tapas and menu’s of the day. Seafood is also a favourite dish of the Spanish. If you prefer British dishes then these can be found with ease also.

Nightlife
Palma Nova and Magaluf are the clubbing and lively resorts (as featured in television's Majorca Uncovered). Alcudia, Cala d’Or and Cala Bona are the family and more relaxed favourites with something for everyone.

Shopping
Good buys are spirits and wines, leather goods and pottery. Best shopping is in the main resorts.
